MEMS  Engineer

Photonwares Corporation is seeking a full time MEMS Engineer

Job Duties: Research, develop, and test MEMS (Micro electro-mechanical systems) products and components, including electromechanical precision systems design, zoom lens design, and micro-fabrication tooling design. Specifically,

  • Participate in next-generation MEMS product developments involving 3D design, cost analysis, packaging, scheduling, and overseas sourcing. Design new MEMS solutions from concept through full production release and utilize Autodesk Inventor, engineering principles, theories, and techniques to support the design process.
  • Design and develop engineering prototype drawings by using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, specifying materials, tolerances, machining of fabricated machine parts, and purchased components. Modify, tune, and test the prototypes to reach predefined requirements. Convert the drawings into a complete manufacturing drawing package ready for manufacturing.
  • Design and execute tests and experiments to evaluate the performance and functionalities of products. Use database to collect experimental data, analyze the data and calibrate the products to meet the predefined requirement and propose specifications for quality control and assurance.
  • Develop new concepts to meet customer requirements and be optimized for production, reliability, and cost, including but not limited to design changes to lower cost, performance improvement to make it easy to use.
  • Ensure the consistent application of engineering best practices and product development processes to meet ISO 9001 standards.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned such as answer technical inquiries from end-users; provide technical support to the production department and software teams as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field.
