Job Title: Chemical Engineer
Job Duties: Develop and optimize the fabrication processes for MEMS devices and participate in SBIR programs. Specifically,
MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical systems) device fabrication:
- Design, plan, and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to develop, characterize, and optimize MEMS fabrication processes, including but not limited to Thin-Film Deposition (DC/RF magnetron sputtering system and thermal evaporator), Wet and Dry Etching (RIE and DRIE system), Lithography (SĂśSS MA/BA6), and Cleaning and Surface Preparation (plasma asher).
- Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot complex issues related to chemical equipment and processes. Implement robust and effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Perform tests and monitor performance of processes throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables such as temperature, pressure, mass flow rate, and composition.
- Establish comprehensive process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Process Flow Diagrams, and Control Plans.
Maintain fabrication equipment and facility to ensure production efficiency, and dispose hazardous waste in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
SBIR (small business innovation research) programs:
- Contribute technically to SBIR research programs by designing and conducting proof-of-concept experiments.
- Perform data analysis to interpret experimental results, draw meaningful conclusions, and determine future research directions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and progress updates for both internal stakeholders and external technical point of contact (TPOC).
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
