The Precision Variable Fiber Optical Splitter maintains a consistent splitting ratio between its two output fiber ports, unaffected by input power fluctuations or environmental conditions. The splitting ratio can be adjusted via a 0-5V control voltage, with 0-1V directing 100% of the signal to one port, and 1V-5V directing 70%-0% to the other port. This adjustment is achieved through the integration of two tap detectors at the fiber outputs of a 1×2 NanoSpeed switch, with a feedback closed-loop circuit ensuring the desired ratio. The splitting ratio is directly proportional to the control signal. This non-mechanical device has passed rigorous mil-spec and space flight qualifications and is designed for over 20 years of continuous operation. The module is powered by a 12V wall-plug power supply. For 2×2 splitters, the splitting for the two inputs is related but operates simultaneously; you can set the ratio for the first input and measure the splitting ratio for the second input while the first one is turned off.
