The Fiber-Fiber™ Series of optical switches directs light propagation continuously without interruptions or distortions. It offers unparalleled advantages, including nearly lossless transmission of about 0.2 dB for all ports (below 0.01 dB with special order), broad wavelength operation from 200 nm to 4000 nm, minimal back-reflection, no distortion to the mode properties for multimode transmission, lowest coupling loss for small core fibers, compatibility with any fiber types, vibration insensitivity, moisture resistance, and high optical power handling. It is also the lowest-cost solution in the industry. Based on a patented MEMS technology, the Fiber-Fiber™ Series self-aligns a fiber directly to another fiber with a tiny gap filled with an index-matching liquid, eliminating the need for lenses, AR coating, and internal surface reflections. We offer two platforms: Fast MEMS for fiber counts up to 8 and motor-driven for large fiber port counts up to 300. The Fiber-Fiber™ optical switches meet demanding application requirements and have a broad customer base, including optical measurement/testing systems, spectroscopy (including OTC, Raman, and fluorescence), industrial production and process control, space satellites, and biomedical applications.
